Day 36 3rd March

Had a quiet night then off to Mt Gambier. Found a really friendly guy at the tourism office.

We found out we have more time to spend in South Australia than we thought. As Elyse ,Pip and Oli are flying to Adelaide to see their Oma and Poppy. Great surprise.🥰🥰🥰

We have regigged our itinerary, which was non existent other than a few key dates. More on that later but Kangaroo Island may be on the agenda.

So of to Umpherston Sink-hole. Fascinating sight right in town.
Then off to The Blue Lake which is an old volcano which erupted about 4300 years ago then material sealed the opening forming a lake. Crystals grow creating a torquise coloured water certain times of the year. Not sure if the photos or video do it justice.

Sal found a lookout point to climb for a better view. . The walk was a mild 5km round lake.
Next stop Cape Northumberland Lighthouse. There are 2 carparks you can freecamp in. We chose this one.
All scenic spots. A bit windy but happy hour now.
