Day 17

Well we saw our platypus.  He was frolicking back and forward on the opposite bank. He even came out of the water around a stump to avoid the strong current.

Drove to Launceston and to Cataract Gorge.

Had coffee and scones and then walked them off on the easy trail
to the mouth of the gorge.

Then as I am not fond of walking back the same way we walked a hard rated track which went back the other side. Hard work.😰

We had a good workout and earned a swim in the gorge. We don't understand why we were the only ones there swimming. Not cold at all.

Walking back to the motorhome we came across a friendly peacock.

Continued on to a freecamp on the Tamar River. It's only 8ks from the Evenfall Winery we are going to for lunch tomorrow for Sal's birthday lunch.

It's low tide and heaps of big plump oysters sitting there but the local word is don't eat them this far up the Tamar River.  😢😥😢😥
