Day 6

Another day of blue sky and a bit cooler. We decided to hike to Archers Knob. Loaded up with munches and water and trekked off.

The trail follows the back of the sand hills of Bakers Beach through banksia and paperback forest.

Saw yellow and white black cockatoos and heaps of pademelons and wallabies. No snakes but had the snake stick ready. Nice level trail til the last bit. Steep but worth the view.
The flies made it hard to suck in air so wore the net.
Decided to walk along the beach home. The wind had picked up keeping the small flies at bay but the marchflies were out in force like they had never seen human flesh before. We were constantly batting them away.

Fun fact they seem to be attracted to black clothing. Like Sal was wearing.  She sometimes had a swarm around her and me in just shorts had none.

We did 15,000 steps and my legs felt like elastic bands on the last part. I felt like a baby giraffe trying to walk.
