Day 32 & 33

Image
Nothing much on Thursday drove to Geelong walked around 5km looking for coffee. Found one just next to where we parked.๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿคจ Onto to caravan park laundry and catch up with Mark and Leanne by pool. Drinks and BBQ.  Next day Sal and Leane swam at Geelong in seaweed and dirty water. Mark and I had 9 holes at Barwon Valley golf course. Rough track but enjoyable game. Couple of beers helped. Then grab bikes then eventually found a rail trail that led us to Fork and Flower Cafe.  Great lunch then a nice ride home. Swim in pool about 28deg. Nice for sore muscles.  Out for dinner. Some serious research for a nice pizza place in Geelong. Finally decided on Lou's pizza and wine.  Good pizza and nice wine.  The christ and Antichrist. Nice old architecture in Geelong. Didn't realise how big it is.

Day 31

Great views over the Great Lake just out Miena.  Stopped at a short walk. One of over 60 throughout Tassie called Pine Lake Walk.  The road from there to Deloraine was tight but scenic.  https://youtube.com/shorts/flpPnQ0OX-U?si=7Sc6hx34zTaGQVTT Had a nice wander around Deloraine then off towards Devonport.   Found a good RV park for $10 just out of Devonport called Horsehead Creek. Busy but still some room here.  Well our last day here. It has gone quickly. Loved the North East coastal areas and all the bits between.

Day 30

Had a blowy night . The wind rock and rolled the van.  Off to Mona. Not a museum person but lots of people said to do it. So we did.  Great position and scenic. Great temperature for it. Started with a nice cappuccino will we downloaded the Mona app and studied it.  it was good to refer to your phone for info on exhibits you were near. We wandered around trying to see everything. The last photo is the stomach digesting. I didnt try to understand all the exhibits or paintings. Life is too short to waste on trying. All I can say is there are some disturbed minds out there somehow expressing their weird ideas and getting paid calling it art??? We were told to hunt out the Naughty Wall( nice way of saying a wall full of vaginas.) We did hunt around with no luck finding a vagina. Mona is growing all the time and will be different in a few years. Will look again next time in area.  Sal couldn't swim today so she w...

Day 29

Image
Woke to  early morning thunderstorms and lightning display. Got the bikes ready together with a change of gear in the wet bag then headed off along the cycleway about 9kms to Hobart. Went to Sandy Bay looking for coffee no luck then found a quaint coffee spot at Battery Point.  Then a look at Arthur's Circus. Quaint old houses with heaps of history. Then onto Telegraph Hotel for lunch. Had to try the fried whitebait which were nice but very fishy. Then the scollap pie with veg. I can tick that one of the list not much to it.  The ride home was into the teeth of a howling wind. The bikes just made it back.

Day 28

We left Sorell early after a cuppa. Sorell is a nice place but no real character.  We drove to Carlton Beach and after a while found a spot to reach the beach. It was a long beach with some wave action so surfers and dog people ๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜–๐Ÿ˜– everywhere.  We did have a refreshing swim though.  Sal even found a sand creature who made nice patterns in the sand. so Salamander Markets here we come after some serious getting lost we found a park at the fishmarket next to the markets.  The markets keep going forever. We took a back alley to have a coffee and custard Danish then hit the crowds again.  Lunch beckoned so we had a craving for fish and chips. We found a floating seafood Cafe and took a seat. Hot day but nice breeze flowing throw windows. Lunch was nice.  With a nice view around harbour. This is the harbour all the Sydney to Hobart yatchs come into.  So we had a bit of tim...

Day 26 & 27

The spot at Mayfield Conservation camping area was so nice we had a chill day and swam and explored there the day so not much to report on. Still busy people coming in all the time looking for spots.  Sal was out there somewhere making the most of clear windless morning.  I was in there but  the water was fresh as nice and refreshing as it was I couldn't stay in too long.  Breakfast this morning at Kate's Berry farm just up the road.  Anyway we had 2 serves of scones. 1 serve too many and they felt very heavy on stomachs for the next hours drive to Sorell.  Got to Sorell and found the only spot in the RV camp ground with grass. Unfortunately it was in close proximity to the dump point. The good news is the wind is blowing the smell the other way.  We researched the local pizza places and funny enough the Domino's had the best sounding toppings. Been ordered for 5.30pm pick-up by Sal on her pizza pick-up bike.  Was o...
